COMMITTEE VACANCIES
The City of Poway welcomes your application to serve on an advisory committee. These committees provide a wide variety of valuable technical and administrative services to the City and its residents. The following vacancies exist in the City of Poway:
BUDGET REVIEW COMMITTEE – Five Vacancies
Qualifications: Must be a Poway resident.
Purpose: To review the annual Operating and Capital Improvement Budget as proposed by the City Manager, and report its findings to the City Council. The committee consists of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor with the concurrence of the City Council. Each Councilmember shall offer one nomination for appointment to the committee for Council consideration. The term of membership shall be for two years.
PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE – Three Vacancies
Qualifications: Must be a Poway resident.
Purpose: To advise the City Council on the parks and recreational needs of the City of Poway and to provide a means of encouraging community involvement as it pertains to park development and recreational programming. The committee consists of five members. To be appointed to this committee, one must be nominated by a member of the City Council and approved by a simple majority vote of Councilmembers. The duration of the appointments correspond with the appointing Councilmember’s term of office. Three vacancies exist due to a newly elected Mayor and two re-elected Councilmembers.
