Sealed bids will be received at the Customer Services Counter, City of Poway City Hall, 13325 Civic Center Drive, Poway, California 92064 until 3:00 p.m. on July 23, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened by a representative from the Administrative Services Department and read. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked on the outside with the project title: CITY OF POWAY REPLACEMENT OF HUNTINGTON GATE ENTRY WALLS BID NO. 14-002
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The work to be done consists of removing the eastern and western masonry walls and footings, removing and disposing of demolished materials, and replacing them in accordance with the project specifications and drawings (Appendix C). The location of the two entry walls is the intersection of Del Poniente Road and Huntington Gate Drive. The dimensions provided are for bidding purposes only. The Contractor shall verify all dimensions in the field and ensure the new construction footprint matches the existing structure. The Contractor shall provide all material submittals to the City for approval prior to purchasing materials and start of work. Construction surveying and staking will be provided by the Contractor. The Contractor must obtain a Right-of-Way Permit and a Temporary Use Permit from the City, at no cost, before construction begins. Plans, Specifications, and other Contract documents are available at the Public Works Administration Building, at 14467 Lake Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064 or free via our website at www.poway.org. A non-refundable fee of $45.00 is required for each set of Contract documents. No bid will be accepted unless it is made on the bid form which is included as part of the Special Provisions for the project. Each bid shall be accompanied by cash or a cashier’s check or a certified check, or a satisfactory bid bond issued by a California admitted surety insurer in the form as included in the bid documents, in any event in an amount not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled on July 17, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at Public Works Administration, 14467 Lake Poway Road, Poway, California 92064. The meeting is to answer bidders’ questions on the REPLACEMENT OF HUNTINGTON GATE ENTRY WALLS project. Following the meeting a site visit will be made. Because of the importance of the information disseminated at the pre-bid meeting, attendance at both portions of the pre-bid meeting should be considered mandatory.
